8 - Do you have a concert?

Yes, we hold a relaxed Mid-Year Demonstration at the beautiful John Bray Performing Arts Centre (Gloucester Ave Belair), at the end of term 2 to showcase what we have been learning throughout our first 2 terms. Uniforms are required (see above).
There is an End Of Year Show, held Mid-December.

Taking part in the concert is exciting, fun and empowering! A chance to showcase students teamwork and skills learned throughout the year. The environment is fun and supportive and I encourage even the youngest and newest students to be involved.

Is there a concert fee?

Yes, a one off non-refundable payment of $90.00 will be charged at the beginning of term 3. This cost covers many things including a beautiful take home costume, shipping costs, venue hire for both rehearsals and shows, videographer, photographers, technicians, licensing, gifts, liability insurance, GST and many more expenses that go into putting on a show. For students taking more than one dance style, an additional $50 fee will be added for each genre.

What else is involved in the concert?

There is a dress rehearsal/costume check and photo shoot leading up to the show either on a Saturday or Sunday at the Belair Community Hall.

All pre-school students along with Pre-Primary, Primary and Ballet 1 students will participate in one of our shows. Ballet 2 and above, Hip Hop, Musical Theatre and Jazz may be required to participate in both shows.

Is it compulsory to participate in the End Of Year Show?

No, however if this is the case, please let your teacher know ASAP as routines etc. may need to be amended. Keep in mind, most students love taking part and would be sad to miss out on the enjoyment of performing on stage with their friends.

9 - What styles of dance do you offer?

EPBS teaches the style of Cecchetti Ballet, beginning at the Pre-Primary level.

Pre-School dance classes will use a playful approach with instruments, props and age appropriate activities to create a fun foundation for all kinds of dance.

We also offer classes in Hip Hop from 4 years, Jazz from 5 years, senior Musical Theatre and Jazz and senior Contemporary from 10 years.

You can view our timetable and class descriptions below.

10 - Can I watch my child’s class?

Parents are always welcome to watch. We have parent viewing week at the end of terms 1 and 3. There will also be a mid-year demonstration at the end of term 2 and an end of year show in term 4 to showcase what students have been learning.
Please know that some children can get quite nervous with a parent watching, some may feel uncomfortable, some may be easily distracted by noise. If you are watching, please be considerate of the class. NO photography allowed in these classes.

11 - Where can I park?

Church of the Holy Innocents’ - 31 Sheoak Road, Belair. Please use the car parking area around the back of the Church rather than the disabled parks as many elderly people come and go. It is also much safer to use the rear carpark, as there are no roads to cross.

Belair Community Centre - 1 Burnell Drive, Belair. Lots of parking both front and rear.

Belair Uniting Church - 18 Sheoak Road, Belair. Lots of parking out the front.
